Bicycle Contest, June 7

In the bicycle skills events, 4-H’ers maneuver through several designated courses to test their riding skills and safety. The 4-H Bicycle Safety Contest will be held Saturday, June 7, 9am at the Lancaster Extension Education Center. The contest is open to all 4-H’ers ages 8 and up. Clover College Still Has Openings

The 4-H Emblem.4-H Clover College is four days of “hands-on” workshops full of fun and learning, June 17-20. Many classes are full, but many classes still have openings. Check website for current availability. Classes are filling up quickly!

4-H Life Challenge judging contests help youth learn more about issues related to family and consumer science and entrepreneurship. County-level Junior (for ages 8–11) AND Senior Life Challenge (for ages 12 and up) will be held Saturday, May 31, 9am at the Lancaster Extension Education Center. Plant Science Contests, June 10

The Plant Science Contests include three contests: tree identification, grass-weed identification, and horticulture contest.Three Plant Science Contests will be held Tuesday, June 10, 10 a.m.–Noon at the Lancaster Extension Education Center. Animal ID’s Due June 15

4-H/FFA Animal ID forms are available online and the Extension office.All 4-H/FFA sheep, goats, swine, breeding beef, bucket calves, feeder calves, dairy cattle, llamas/alpacas and rabbits which will be exhibited at county fair, State Fair and/or Ak-Sar-Ben 4-H Stock Show must have Identification/Ownership Affidavits submitted to the Extension office by June 15. The statewide Premier Animal Science Events includes a varity of livestock-related contests.The statewide Premier Animal Science Events will be held June 30–July 1 on UNL East Campus. Open to 4-H’ers ages 12 & up, PASE consists of these contests:
• livestock, meats & poultry judging
• livestock skill-a-thon
• livestock quiz bowl

Horse Course Challenge, June 27

-H Horse Course Challenge study material is based on the online Horse Course. The 4-H Horse Course Challenge will be held Friday, June 27, 9:30am at the Lancaster Extension Education Center, 444 Cherrycreek Road. Study material is based on the online Horse Course. To sign up for the course, email mcruickshank2@unl.edu. No preregistration is required for the Challenge.
