On Thursday, May 28, Lancaster County 4-H Council celebrates the power of community by participating in "Give To Lincoln Day" hosted by Lincoln Community Foundation. Your donation, made any time from now until May 28, 11:59pm, is increased by a proportional share of a $300,000 challenge match pool

Many Super Fair Resources Now Online

The 2015 Lancaster County Super Fair will be July 30-Aug. 8 at the Lancaster Event Center, 84th & Havelock.The 2015 Lancaster County Super Fair will be July 30-Aug. 8 at the Lancaster Event Center, 84th & Havelock. 4-H & FFA Events & Exhibits will be July 30-Aug. 2 and the 4-H Horse Show will be July 26-Aug. 2. Many helpful resources, including handouts, forms and video examples are now online!

4-H Projects Must Be Updated by June 15

Nebraska 4-H is using a new 4-H online enrollment system, called “4-H Online.”4-H members’ projects must be updated by June 15 using “4-H Online”. These are project area(s) each member plans to enter at the Super Fair (specific classes within each project area not needed). NOTE: only 4-H members or their parents/guardians may update projects.

Plant Science Contests, June 10

The Plant Science Contests include: tree identification, grass-weed identification, and horticulture contest.Three Plant Science Contests will be held Wednesday, June 10, 10 a.m.–Noon at the Lancaster Extension Education Center. Bicycle Safety Contest, June 13

There are two parts of the 4-H Bicycle Safety Contest. In the bicycle skills events, 4-H’ers maneuver through several designated courses to test their riding skills and safety.The 4-H Bicycle Safety Contest will be held Saturday, June 13, 9 a.m. at the Lancaster Extension Education Center, 444 Cherrycreek Road. Donated Sewing Machine To Go To a 4-H’er

This is the seventh year Kath Conroy, a 4-H clothing superintendent, and her husband, Mike, are graciously donating a brand new sewing machine to one Lancaster County 4-H youth. Volunteer at 4-H Food Booth During Super Fair

Help raise money for 4-H and have fun by staffing a shift at the 4-H Food Booth during the Lancaster County Super Fair.The 4-H Corner Stop food booth at the Lancaster County Super Fair is Lancaster County 4-H Council’s primary fundraiser. 4-H Council asks clubs and independent members to help by staffing a shift at the 4-H Corner Stop. Help raise money for 4-H and have fun!

Big Red Summer Academic Camps

Big Red Summer Academic Camps are held on University of Nebraska–Lincoln East Campus the week of June 7–12.These career exploration camps for high school youth (need not be in 4-H) will be held on University of Nebraska–Lincoln East Campus the week of June 7–12. Camps focus on topics such as engineering, digital arts, weather & climate science, culinary arts & food science, and veterinary science.

Livestock Nutrition and Fitting Clinic, May 28

Lancaster County 4-H and Purina have teamed up to present a free 4-H/FFA Beef, Sheep, Swine and Meat Goat Nutrition and Fitting Clinic on Thursday, May 28 at the Lancaster Event Center – Pavilion 1. Registration starts at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and clinic at 6:30 p.m.

Horse Judging Contest, June 5

The horse judging contest may consist of four classes of four horses, two halter and two performance, to be judged by 4-H members in the elementary, junior and senior age divisions. The Lancaster County Super Fair 4-H Horse Judging Contest will be held on Friday, June 5 at the Lancaster Event Center – Pavilion 3 arena. Registration begins at 5 p.m. Enter the day of the contest. The statewide Premier Animal Science Events includes a variety of livestock-related contests.The statewide Premier Animal Science Events will be held June 29–30 on UNL East Campus. Open to 4-H’ers ages 12 and up, PASE consists of a variety of different contests:
• livestock, meats and poultry judging
• livestock skill-a-thon
• livestock quiz bowl
