Lancaster County 4-H helps local youth grow into caring, contributing citizens. In 2014, Lancaster County 4-H involved nearly: 1,252 club members, 313 independent members, 2,440 youth in after-school/summer programs which incorporated 4-H activities, 18,800 youth in 4-H school enrichment programs.
A national report, “The Positive Development of Youth: Comprehensive Findings from the 4-H Study of Positive Youth Development,” shows 4-H youth excel beyond their peers. 4-H’ers are about 4x more likely to make contributions to their communities, 2x more likely to be civically active, and more.
