4-H E-Newsletter Will be Sent Every Friday

The Lancaster County 4-H E-Newsletter will now be sent every Friday.Instead of the Lancaster County 4-H E-Newsletter being sent once a month with lots of announcements, it will be now be sent weekly (Friday mornings) with fewer, more timely announcements. Premier Animal Science Events, June 20–21

Last year's Lancaster County Livestock Judging Contest intermediate contestants earned 4th high team at the  Premier Animal Science Events (PASE).The statewide 4-H Premier Animal Science Events (PASE) will be held June 20–21 on UNL East Campus. Open to 4-H’ers ages 12 and up, PASE consists of a variety of different contests:
• livestock, meats and poultry judging
• livestock skill-a-thon

Horse Identifications Due June 1

Draw your horses markings as accurately as you can. Also, be sure and indicate the horse’s color on the drawing.Each horse which will be shown at Super Fair must be identified on form “4-H Horse Identification Certificate” and submitted to the Nebraska Extension in Lancaster County office by June 1. Form is available at the office as a carbon copy form. If you use the online form, make a copy for yourself.

4-H Summer Camps Need Camp Counselors

Summer camp counselors are the leaders in cabin activities.4-H Summer Camps still need youth leaders ages 15-18 to volunteer as camp counselors at Nebraska State 4-H Camp in Halsey and the Eastern Nebraska 4-H Center in Gretna. Counselors can sign up for the sessions that fit their schedule. Counselor training takes place at both locations May 31-June 4.

Special Garden Project, Jazzy Mix Zinnia

Jazzy Mix Zinnia is this year's Nebraska 4-H special garden project.4-H families are invited to participate in a special garden project growing Jazzy Mix Zinnia. There are still several seed packets available. The cost is $.50 for one seed packet per family. Please stop by the Extension office front desk to register, pay for and pick up your seeds.
