If you have 4-H/FFA market beef you would like to weigh to be eligible for the rate of gain contest at the Super Fair, plan to attend Sunday, Feb. 18 from 2-3 p.m. at Scott Heinrich's farm located at 12355 Panama Rd., Hickman. Cattle will be weighed, tagged and DNA samples taken at this time.
4-H Council will award full scholarships for a select number of Lancaster County 4-H members to attend a summer camp at either Nebraska 4-H Camp location: Gretna or Halsey! Applicants must be age 8 or older and currently enrolled in 4-H. Preference given to applications submitted by March 1.

4-H Speech & PSA Contests are open to all 4-H’ers — need not be enrolled in a specific project. Youth may choose to participate in either or both the Speech and PSA contests. Deadline is March 12. The 4-H Speech Contest will be held Sunday, March 18 at the Lancaster Extension Education Center.

New Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (formerly Quality Assurance) requirements have been expanded to include ALL livestock exhibitors (not just those showing market animals). 4-H Livestock ID/Ownership requirements for showing at State Fair and/or AKSARBEN Stock Show have changed for 2018.

My Preparedness Initiative (MyPI) is an award-winning disaster preparedness program for teens ages 13–18. A series of trainings begin Saturday, April 14, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. at the Lancaster Extension Education Center, 444 Cherrycreek Road, Lincoln.
