MyPI Disaster Preparedness Program for Teens

My Preparedness Initiative (MyPI) is a great opportunity for teens wanting to build life saving skill sets! A series of trainings begin Saturday, April 14, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. at the Lancaster Extension Education Center, 444 Cherrycreek Road, Lincoln. The deadline for applications is Saturday, March 31.

Sign Up for First Horsemanship Level Testing By April 3

The first 2018 riding skills level testing will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 5:30 p.m. at the Lancaster Event Center in the Amy Countryman Arena. Register Your Community Service in April

This April, as part of True Leaders in Service and National Volunteer Appreciation Month, 4‑H’ers across the nation will pledge their hands to larger service. Local 4-H clubs and youth are encouraged to register their community service projects during April.

Poultry Judging Clinic, Register by April 13

A 4-H Poultry Judging Clinic will be held on Saturday, April 21, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Animal Science Building on UNL East Campus. Cost is $10. Registration deadline is April 13. The judging manual may be purchased from the Extension office or at the clinic for $8.

Kiwanis Karnival is Free, Fun Family Event, April 13

Families of 4-H members and Elliott Elementary School students are invited to attend the annual Kiwanis Karnival, a FREE family event. Kiwanis Karnival will be held Friday, April 13, 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Elliott Elementary School, 225 S. 25th St., Lincoln. The Karnival features carnival type games for the kids, bingo for adults, prizes, snacks, fun and fellowship. Lincoln Center Kiwanis has sponsored this event for over 50 years — providing prizes and snacks. Come join the fun!

Nebraska Extension is presenting a Horse Judging School on Saturday, April 28, 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. at the Animal Science Complex on UNL East Campus.

Sheep & Meat Goat Weigh-In and Tag Day, May 15
