My Preparedness Initiative (MyPI) is a great opportunity for teens wanting to build life saving skill sets! A series of trainings begin Saturday, April 14, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. at the Lancaster Extension Education Center, 444 Cherrycreek Road, Lincoln. The deadline for applications is Saturday, March 31.

This April, as part of True Leaders in Service and National Volunteer Appreciation Month, 4‑H’ers across the nation will pledge their hands to larger service. Local 4-H clubs and youth are encouraged to register their community service projects during April.

A 4-H Poultry Judging Clinic will be held on Saturday, April 21, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Animal Science Building on UNL East Campus. Cost is $10. Registration deadline is April 13. The judging manual may be purchased from the Extension office or at the clinic for $8.

Kiwanis Karnival will be held Friday, April 13, 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Elliott Elementary School, 225 S. 25th St., Lincoln. The Karnival features carnival type games for the kids, bingo for adults, prizes, snacks, fun and fellowship. Lincoln Center Kiwanis has sponsored this event for over 50 years — providing prizes and snacks. Come join the fun!
