A new Virtual Private Network for UNL, which allows secure, encrypted online connections to UNL internal data from anywhere, will be in operation starting Jan. 25.

Current UNL VPN users will need to change their secure gateway/connect field beginning 9 a.m. Jan. 25 on the Cisco AnyConnect Client to vpn.unl.edu. Upon connecting to the new UNL VPN service, a new VPN client, Cisco Secure Mobility Client, will be downloaded and installed. The client works with both Windows and Mac operating systems. The new VPN connection will not be operational until Jan. 25.

New VPN users should go to http://vpn.unl.edu, select the UNL-My.UNL group, and sign in with their My.UNL/Blackboard username and password.

The new UNL VPN service will offer UNL increased VPN capacity and offsite redundancy for disaster mitigation. UNL access to the current CSN/Nebraska VPN system will end on Jan. 25 at 5 a.m.

If you have any issues connecting to the UNL VPN service, please contact the UNL Computer Help Center at 472-3970 or mysupport@unl.edu.
