Early Registration for Honors Students, Starting Fall 2017

Starting Fall 2017 (during priority registration for Spring 2018), Honors students in good standing will have access to early priority registration during Fall and Spring registration periods. This includes Raikes School and Nebraska Business Honors Academy students, as they are also members of the University Honors Program.

Honors students with senior standing (as determined by credit hours) will be assigned priority enrollment appointment times earlier than non-Honors Program seniors; Honors juniors will follow all seniors and precede non-Honors juniors, and so on. The Registrar will randomly distribute Honors students with the same class standing among different appointment times on the first day of priority registration for each class. Of course, if a student has a registration hold, this earlier appointment time will not override that hold, and the student will need to resolve the hold before they may register.

A note from Dr. Gwen Bachman, Interim Honors Program Director, on this change: I hope this makes a positive impact on your ability to help our students navigate the demands of their majors, ACE and Honors. I strongly believe that undergraduates in all majors benefit from the academic opportunities afforded by Honors courses, co-curricular activities, and the thesis/senior project. I know this will alter your advising schedules as potentially more students will need your help earlier in the semester. Please let us know how we can help you. Thank you for your tireless efforts on behalf of all undergraduates at UNL, and especially those in our program.
