From the Education Abroad Office – Changes to Scholarship Deadlines & Education Abroad Month!

Education Abroad Scholarship Deadlines: Please help us inform your students that our scholarship deadlines for summer, and fall/academic year have changed! The new deadline for students participating in summer programs is January 5. The new deadline for students participating in a fall or full academic year programs is March 1. Please note that the deadline for students participating in spring programs will remain the same and is October 1. With these new deadlines, particularly for summer programs, we hope to alleviate some of the concerns students have about financially committing to a program prior to knowing the results of their scholarship applications. Now we will be able to inform students about their scholarship results prior to the deadline for students to pay their commitment deposits! In addition, the later deadline for fall and academic year students will allow them more time in the spring semester to solidify their plans. Don’t forget that the Education Abroad Office is always looking for scholarship reviewers and will now be putting a call out for reviewers three times per year for our three deadlines. If you are interested in being a reviewer for the upcoming spring intake (applications are reviewed during the month of October), please email the Education Abroad Office at

Education Abroad Month: This year the Education Abroad Office is designating September as Education Abroad Month! During Education Abroad Month our office will host events including college-specific panels whereby returned students from each college can inform prospective education abroad students about their experiences, a scholarship Q&A open house, scholarship and program-specific informational sessions, and more! Also, don’t forget that the annual Education Abroad Fair will be held on Tuesday, September 19, from 11AM-2PM on the Union Plaza. A full calendar of events will soon be accessible from the front page of the Education Abroad website.
