Coming Soon: Career-Chella!

With career fairs coming up this month, many students might be overwhelmed thinking about how they should act, dress and network with employers at these events. They can get a head start on their preparation by attending Career-Chella on Feb. 8 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Centennial Room.

Similar to a music festival with multiple stages and variety of musicians, students will be able to rotate through an array of short presentations that will prepare them for the career fair. They will learn how to dress, how to network with employers, how to craft follow-up emails and more. These presentations will be provided by employers from Nelnet, Lincoln Financial Group, Enterprise, Spreetail, Textron, Streck and Hexagon, giving students real-life expertise straight from the companies that use career fairs to recruit new talent to their organizations. There will also be resume reviews and a raffle for gift cards to the University Bookstore and JCPenney.

Students are encouraged to attend the Spring 2018 career fairs Feb. 13 through 15. A complete list of the dates will be provided below. Every fair is dedicated to certain career paths, from agriculture, to business and STEM. Complete schedules and lists of employers that will be attending each career fair can be found on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Career Services website.

Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources: Feb. 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Nebraska East Union.
