• Dec. 1: Percussion Ensemble. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets are $5 general admission and $3 for students/seniors.

• Dec. 2-3: Wet Ink. Westbrook Recital Hall Rm. 119. Free. The composition program at the Glenn Korff School of Music presents its Wet Ink concert series. This two-evening concert series features an especially varied and rich set of premieres from the student composers at UNL.

• Dec. 3-6: Theatrix presents "Mary's Wedding." Performances are Dec. 3-5 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. Lab Theatre, 3rd floor of the Temple Building. Tickets: $6 available one hour prior to each performance or online at http://go.unl.edu/theatretix.

• Dec. 4: Chamber Singers. 5 p.m. Sheldon Museum of Art. Free. The University Chamber Singers, directed by Eph Ehly, are UNL’s premiere vocal chamber ensemble.

The UNL Glenn Korff School of Music presents the 11th annual Student Dance Project, which is a program of original work by student choreographers.

• Dec. 6: AIA Lecture: "The Stories of Stuff from Pompeii" by Ted Pena, University of California at Berkeley. Abbott Lecture Hall at Joslyn Art Museum, 2201 Dodge St. in Omaha.

• Dec. 6: Cocoa and Carols. 3 and 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets: $5 general admission and $3 for students/seniors. The traditional UNL choirs will combine for an exciting holiday-inspired mass choral performance of seasonal favorites.

Dec. 7: Wind Ensemble. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets are $5 general and $3 for students/seniors. With our imaginations fueled by tales of adventure on the big screen, the UNL Wind Ensemble will follow Tinker Bell in flight, join Ahab on the deck of the Pequod, and get lost in space with Robby the Robot. And, in the heart of darkness (literally), the ensemble will accompany F. W. Murnau’s 1926 masterpiece of expressionistic cinema, Faust, with a contemporary score by Huck Hodge. Don’t miss this special evening of epic drama and unforgettable characters.

Dec. 8: Symphonic Band. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets are $5 general and $3 for students/seniors. The concert will also be webcast. The Symphonic Band, directed by Anthony Falcone, has the distinction of being the band program’s top symphonic ensemble. Its select mission is to provide instrumentalists with an opportunity to demonstrate and develop the techniques and musical instincts appropriate to a symphonic setting.

Dec. 9: Campus Orchestra. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets are $5 general and $3 for students/seniors. The Campus Orchestra is directed by Tyler White.

Dec. 10: Jazz Orchestra and Big Band. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets are $5 general and $3 for students/seniors. The concert will also be webcast. The UNL Jazz Orchestra, directed by Paul Haar, is the university’s showcase jazz organization and one of the Glenn Korff School of Music’s most visible performing groups. UNL Big Band, directed by Patrick Brown, is a vital component of the UNL jazz curriculum.

Dec. 11-18: Capstone Exhibition. Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall. A closing reception will be held on Dec. 18 from 5-7 p.m. in the Gallery. Awards will be announced at 6 p.m.

Dec. 11: Musical Theatre Showcase. Westbrook Recital Hall Rm. 119. Free.

Dec. 11: Honors ChamberFest. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Free.

Dec. 12: Cornhusker Marching Band Highlights Concert. 7:30 p.m. Lied Center for Performing Arts. Tickets: $20 adults, $10 for students/seniors. For advance ticket sales, contact the Lied Center Box Office at (402) 472-4747. The "Pride of All Nebraska" will perform highlights from their season.

Dec. 12: Honors ChamberFest. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Free.

Dec. 13: Symphony Orchestra. 3 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets are $5 general and $3 for students/seniors. Members of the Symphony Orchestra, directed by Tyler White, include students from throughout the university.

Dec. 13: Big Red Singers & Vocal Jazz. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets are $5 general and $3 for students/seniors. Directed by Kirk Schjodt, Big Red Singers is an ensemble featuring some of the university’s finest musicians. The ensemble’s repertoire is chosen from a wide variety of popular music as well as music from Broadway. The UNL Vocal Jazz Ensemble is a small choir, directed by David von Kampen, that focuses on performing in the jazz idiom. It is open to all members of the University community by audition.
