Carson School faculty's 'Laurence' film to screen in New York City June 29

"Laurence," a film created by Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film faculty, will have its first public screening June 29 in New York City.

The film "Laurence," created by film faculty in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, will have its first public screening in New York City on Wednesday, June 29 at 8:30 p.m. ET at Anthology Film Archives, located at 32 2nd Avenue.

Tickets are $7 and are on sale starting at 5:30 p.m. the day of the show at the Anthology Box Office.

"Laurence" tells the story of a young photographer who fears he's being haunted by a vengeful spirit. It is a ghost story in the vein of classic films like “Laura” and “The Haunting” that begins with Laurence’s murder in 1945 and leads to the contemporary story of Carver Mendez and his boyfriend Graham being haunted by Laurence’s ghost.

Associate Professor of Film Richard Endacott co-wrote and co-directed the film with his long-time collaborator Steven Kellam. Endacott, Kellam and Associate Professor of Film Sharon Teo-Gooding produced the film. Teo-Gooding also edited the film, and Associate Professor of Film Steve Kolbe was the visual effects director.
