• Sept. 29: Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Phillip Chen. 5:30 p.m. Richards Hall Rm. 15. Free and open to the public. Chen’s prints have been exhibited in numerous locations nationally and internationally and are held in public collections that include Brooklyn Museum, New York Public Library, Carnegie Institute Museum of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, and San Francisco Museum of Fine Arts. His visit is supported by the Under Pressure Print Club and the Hixson-Lied Visiting Artists & Scholars program.

Oct. 11: Sheldon Museum & Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Ron Jude. 5:30 p.m. Sheldon Museum of Art auditorium. Free and open to the public. Photographer Jude’s artist lecture, “Those Are Not Mountains You See,” coincides with his exhibition “Lago,” a series of color photographs in which Jude seeks to reconcile the vagaries of memory with a human need to create a narrative based on lived experience. “Lago” is open through Dec. 31 at Sheldon Museum of Art.

Oct. 20: Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Iva Gueorguieva. 5:30 p.m. Richards Hall Rm. 15. Free and open to the public. Gueorguieva’s work is included in many public and private collections including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; the Minneapolis Institute of Art; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; The von Liebig Art Center, Naples, Florida; and the University of California, Santa Barbara. Gueorguieva lives and works in Los Angeles. She received her MFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.

Oct. 25: Faculty Recital: Darryl White. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Free and open to the public. White is Associate Professor of Trumpet and Jazz Studies.

Oct. 27: Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist: Radha Pandey. 5:30 p.m. Richards Hall Rm. 15. Free and open to the public. Pandey is a papermaker and letterpress printer. She earned her MFA in book arts from the University of Iowa Center for the Book, where she was a recipient of the Iowa Arts Fellowship. Her expertise includes traditional textile hand-printing in India and stop-motion animations using watermarks in paper. Her artists books are held in 19 public collections including the Library of Congress and Yale University.
