Several Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film students competed at the Kennedy Center/American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) Region V Festival in Des Moines, Iowa, in January.
Through this festival, KCACTF participants celebrate the creative process, see one another's work and share experiences and insights within the community of theater artists.
Below are some of the students who were honored for their work at the Region V Festival:
• Andrea Besch: Awarded first place in Regional Allied Crafts and recognized by The Society of Properties Artisan Managers
• Lisa Haldeman: Awarded a certificate for her scenic work on "Fuddy Meers;" Honorable Mention for Nationals in the Scenic Design category
• Kaitlyn Peterson: Awarded a certificate for her scenic work on "Hamlet"
• Trey Martinez and Ciara Hergott: Performed in the Final Round of the Irene Ryan acting competition
• Michelle Ingle and Aguel Lual: Performed in the Semi-Final Round of the Irene Ryan acting competition
• Nick Prior and Amy Almond: Performed in the Semi-Final Round of the Irene Ryan acting competition
• Tatianna Hizar, Kasey Halvorson, Katie Hoppe, Travis Banks, and Aguel Lual: Performed in the JFK Centennial Commissioned Plays Concert Reading Series
• Jazmine Heurtas and Nick Prior: Performed in the 10-Minute Play Concert Reading Series
• Candace Nelson: Her play was selected and read in the 10-Minute Play Concert Reading Series
