Souto’s solo exhibition continues at Kiechel Fine Art

School of Art, Art History & Design Director Francisco Souto has a solo exhibition, “Dicotomias,” that continues through May 26 at Kiechel Fine Art in Lincoln. The gallery is located at 1208 O St.

Souto was born in Venezuela and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Herron School of Art in 2000, and his Master of Fine Arts from the Ohio State University in 2002. He has participated in a wide range of national and international exhibitions throughout the United States, Europe, Venezuela, Russia, Egypt and Japan.

His significant exhibitions include Latin American Contemporary Printmaking Masters in Italy; the 6th Kochi triennial exhibition of prints in Japan; the IV Novosibirsk International Biennial of Contemporary Graphic Art in Russia; the 5th British International Miniature Print Exhibition in the U.K.; 12th International Print Biennial in Bulgaria; the Boston Printmakers 2003 North American Print Exhibition; and Los Angeles Printmaking Society 18th National Exhibition.

Souto has taught workshops and has been a visiting artist in the U.S. and abroad, including Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Colorado; the Universidad de los Andes in Venezuela; American University in Cairo, Egypt; and Academy of Fine Art in Helsinki, Finland.

He has received many awards and grants, and his work is in many important public and private collections in the U.S. and abroad.
