The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Campus Bands will perform a two-part concert featuring the music of Balmages, Gómez, Grainger, Spittal and many others Thursday, April 26 at 7:30 pm in Kimball Recital Hall.

The night will also feature Campus Bands Bingo Night. The first 100 attendees will receive a Campus Bands Bingo card. The winning cards can be turned in, either at intermission or at the end of the night for prizes.

The first half of the program presented by the Donald A. Lentz Concert Band is titled “Hemispheres” reflecting its international flavor as well as referring to the hemispheres of the human brain. The music of Australian composer, Percy A. Grainger (Ye Banks & Braes O’Bonnie Doon) will be performed alongside Nebraska Band Graduate Assistant Rubén Darío Gómez’s own "Tu Llegada." The band will close its portion of the night with Todd Stalter’s frantic "Scramble."

Following a brief intermission, the Jack R. Snider Concert Band will take the stage and present “Through Time and Space." This portion includes the music of Morales, Oare and Prescott and features "Open Space" by Brian Balmages. The evening will come to a dramatic close as the band performs music from the sci-fi classic, "Doctor Who" television series. In order to complete the sci-fi “vibe," the band will be joined by Jared Alberico performing on the Theramin.

The bands take the names of University of Nebraska–Lincoln Directors of Band Emeriti. Both bands are under the direction of Assistant Director of Bands Douglas W. Bush, who shares conducting duties with conducting associates Sarah Aymond, Christopher Brandt and Rubén Darío Gómez.

Tickets are $5 general admission and $3 for students/seniors and are available at the door.
