Senior Jessica Remaly has been accepted into the coveted Professional Internship program at Disney. She graduates from UNL with a degree in Hospitality, Restaurant and Tourism Management (HRTM) in May and will begin her dream job in Orlando, Florida on June 17.

Remaly has wanted to work for Disney since she was in seventh grade. She got her foot in the door by completing a six-month College Program at Disney during her junior year at UNL. She feels the variety of experiences through the HRTM program gave her a strong background to be successful in the College Program and ultimately land a post-college internship with Disney Cruise Lines.

“The internships I completed as a student in the HRTM program gave me valuable experiences working as part of a team in a professional setting," said Remaly. "I think these real-world experiences are a major part of why Disney offered me this position out of 234 applicants."

“Disney selects students from all over the world for their competitive post-college internships and having Jessica obtain this position is recognition of the quality of our undergraduate program,” said Dr. Marilynn Schnepf, director of the HRTM program. “Jessica used the internship requirements of the program to prepare herself for this career.”

Hospitality, Restaurant and Tourism Management is one of the fastest growing majors at UNL and resides jointly in the College of Education and Human Sciences and the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
