On behalf of the Staff Council we would like to say CONGRATULATIONS to Jennifer Hartig, project assistant in the Student Services Center, for being selected as the October recipient of our Staff Star Award!!

Some of the things Jennifer’s nominators said about her are:

· Jennifer is very thorough in how she completes her day-to-day responsibilities but in addition has an outstanding “can-do” approach and has consistently gone above and beyond. Her attention to detail and high personal standard for her own work make a very positive impact on the work done in the Advising Center. Jennifer is responsible for managing the Advising Center front office; including hiring and training our student workers – the group of student workers she has trained are friendly, dependable and great problem solvers – just like her!
· Jennifer is definitely the MVP of the CEHS Undergraduate Advising Center. Regardless of how busy we are, how many students are waiting, and how much assistance we ask of her, Jennifer always responds with a positive, gracious and professional attitude. When assigned any project she consistently completes them ahead of schedule and asks for clarification and makes suggestions when needed. She is adept at identifying problems that the advisors in the office might not see. She has a unique view of the undergraduate student population since she hears their requests, joys, frustrations, etc. when they come into the office looking for help. She is outstanding at triage and always manages to get the students who truly need help seen in a hurry. She is a valued colleague and a true professional.
· Jennifer also goes above and beyond to assist the Office of Field Placement in many ways. Whenever there are technical issues in terms of formatting reports, printing or other challenges, she not only gets the task done, but she is pleasant and genuinely glad to help. It is her willingness to help whenever and wherever there is need that sets her apart. Jennifer's dedication to making sure things run smoothly in every office that makes up the Student Services division is because she wants students to receive the service and information they need. That high level of dedication is only enhanced by her constant smile and positive nature. She is always looking at things in a way that moves them forward and her happiness is infectious.

So, if you get a chance, stop by room 105 in Henzlik Hall and congratulate Jennifer. She is very deserving of this award!
