NPOD to host 2nd Annual Fall Symposium


The Nebraska Center for the Prevention of Obesity Diseases (NPOD) will host the 2nd Annual Fall Symposium on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. The symposium is a free, day-long event for faculty, postdocs, students, staff, industry partners, and other interested parties to provide an opportunity to explore relevant topics and to network with fellow researchers in academia and industry.
The symposium this year will be held on at the Sheldon Museum of Art beginning with a continental breakfast at 8:00 AM for all of those attending. Our program will begin at 9:00 AM, and will conclude with our traditional graduate student and postdoctoral fellow poster award competition followed by award presentations at 4:00 PM.
This year’s theme is “Quantitative Research” and talks will be given by three internationally recognized speakers in this field who will each present their innovative perspective: Yang Xie, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Quantitative Biomedical Research Center; Irina St. Louis, University of Minnesota Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine; Ying Xu, University of Georgia, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
