To meet the needs of graduate students, Educational Administration (EDAD) and Nebraska Libraries have teamed up to create the EDAD Student Success Center. The online learning community was designed to help EDAD distance students feel better connected to department faculty, staff and students, and to improve their academic success. The effort has received positive feedback, and the design team’s work was featured May 22, 2017 in an Educause online article. EDAD’s Christina Yao, assistant professor, and Brian Wilson, instructional design tech specialist, worked with former EDAD graduate student Crystal Phillips Garcia, now an assistant professor in educational administration at Auburn University, and Nebraska Libraries faculty Erica DeFrain and Andrew Cano.
