Attend an information session on the OLLI tour of Southern Italy & Sicily

The Amalfi Coast Music and Arts Festival
The Amalfi Coast Music and Arts Festival

Join us for an information session on the OLLI tour of Southern Italy and Sicily taking place in July. One fabulous tour with two components: The Amalfi Coast Music and Arts Festival with Paul Barnes, UNL professor of music, plus the sights, food and wine of Southern Italy. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UNL and Valden Tours offers this exclusive tour.

The first stop on the tour is a three-day visit to the Amalfi Coast Music and Arts Festival, an international month-long array of cultural events. A featured performer at the festival will be concert pianist Paul Barnes, professor of music at the Glenn Korff School of Music at UNL. The trip includes one of Professor Barnes’ concerts. He, and his wife April, will describe the activities offered at the festival, from master classes, lectures and rehearsals, and provide us with a preview of his performance. Professor Barnes and his wife, April, will answer your questions.

Lee Rockwell of Valden Tours will present a sneak preview of the remainder of the trip. Southern Italy is a rich tapestry of idyllic countryside and ancient towns, beautiful architecture and remarkable food and wine. The trip includes a tour of the island of Capri, the Benevento region, the “subterranean city” of Matera, the vineyards of Peglia, Catania and more.

Come hear what Professor Barnes, April Barnes and Lee Rockwell have to say about this once-in-a-lifetime trip.
