November is National Hunger Awareness Month. Donate food to local families in need by registering a team at the link below for Dare to Care, a campus-wide food donation competition. Individuals can also donate food in collection bins across both campuses.

From Nov. 21-23, the Center for People In Need will be hosting Giving ThanksGiving, an event where food donations and gift certificates to grocery stores are distributed so low-income families can enjoy holiday traditions. Shifts are two hours long and volunteers can sign up at the link below.

On Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 7PM, Dr. Jennifer Francis, Research Professor at Rutgers University will be giving a free public lecture exploring the connections between extreme weather patterns and the warming Arctic. The lecture will take place in the Nebraska Innovation Campus auditorium.
Lincoln Literacy is a local non-profit that teaches adults to read and write in English. The Scrabble Scramble Tournament is an annual fundraiser in the fall that raises money to serve their English learners. The tournament will take place Nov. 8 from 1-5. Email lgraef@lincolnliteracy.org for info.

The Asian Community & Cultural Center is recruiting 10 volunteers to assist with Curry Clash, a fundraising event, on Nov. 11 from 6-8 downtown. Chefs from local restaurants will be judged on their curry dishes and volunteers will help the event run smoothly. Email daishizuka@gmail.com for info.
