Community unity! We're looking for workplaces, neighborhood associations, professional groups, youth groups, faith organizations, schools and social networks to mobilize for community unity this September, aka Hunger Action Month. Join us for Lincoln CAN, a first-time event, in partnership with UNL Center for Civic Engagement and Sandhills Publishing Company, and see how we stack up--literally--as a community when it comes to feeding hungry neighbors.
The challenge is to collect 35,000 pounds of nonperishable food and $35,000 during the month of September to support the Food Bank of Lincoln's programs in honor of the Food Bank's 35th anniversary. Step one is to register your "collection crew" at http://www.lincolnfoodbank.org/lincolnCAN
