The Peter Kiewit Institute is hosting its second annual Student Capstone and Research Conference in Engineering, Information Science, and Technology on April 27, 2012.

Students are encouraged to submit an abstract before the April 9 deadline to be considered for the conference. The abstract should be 250 words long and, once approved, the student will submit their accompanying project report and be invited to present at the conference. Furthermore, the projects will be published in the capstone proceedings. The deadline for conference registration is April 20.

The conference is a great place to gain experience for students considering an academic career and looks great on graduate school applications. Submissions and presentations will provide students with the opportunity to learn the basics of writing research proposals and presenting at conferences.

The conference is a joint venture with the University of Nebraska - Lincoln's College of Engineering and the University of Nebraska - Omaha's College of Information Science and Technology.
