There are two new job opportunities. Undergraduate research assistant are needed for paid positions to analyze data for a National Science Foundation funded project. Hudl, an online video analysis tools that helps sports coaches is looking for data science interns.

Dr. Jeffrey Stevens (Department of Psychology, Center for Brain, Biology, and Behavior) and Dr. Leen-Kiat Soh (Department of Computer Science and Engineering) are looking for undergraduate research assistants to help analyze data for a National Science Foundation funded project on human decision making. An NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduate supplement will pay a stipend to two undergraduates to help on this project in Fall 2014 and Spring 2015. This project involves both using decision trees to categorize an existing set of behavioral data and developing further experiments to collect and analyze more data. In addition to conducting research, the assistants are expected to meet weekly with Drs. Stevens and Soh to discuss the project. We are looking for students interested in cognitive science or the interface between computer science and human psychology. Experience in machine learning or data mining is desired but not required. Data Science Interns wanted at Hudl

Hudl, located near campus, just a few blocks from the Schorr Center, helps teams connect around the video and data they need to win with simple online software. They have recently started their first R&D team whose goal is to sift through mountains of data acquired to find patterns and meaning. There’s a lot of interested research being done at the professional level. Hudl has the unique position of having data on not just tens but thousands of teams across the country. Each weekend during football season they ingest over 25 hours of video per minute! If all this data sounds like a fun playground of opportunity – then you might be perfect for this position!

Business/IT Analysts wanted at Union Pacific Railroad

Come join Union Pacific as a Business / IT Analysts (SAP Emphasis) in our Information Technologies department. We are currently looking for college graduates to work in our SAP Center of Expertise with opportunities to advance within the SAP organization and other areas of the Railroad. New members to the organization will be put through extensive training and skills development activities to prepare them for placement onto strategic ERP projects throughout the Finance, Human Resources, Procurement and Maintenance areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysts are subject matter experts that support and design solutions that meet business requirements for the areas supported. Analysts perform configuration within SAP to support and enhance the solution and are responsible for resolving functional errors in the system, providing advanced problem resolution, developing functional documentation and specifications, and coordinating development efforts with the technical resources within the SAP Center of Expertise.

IT Analysts provide technical expertise to realize the designs developed collaboratively with the Business Analysts and members of the Business. Analysts focus on development using SAP's ABAP and Java programming languages, data modeling, extraction, transformation and loading using SAP/Business Objects business intelligence tools and systems administration activities focused on the SAP Basis layer and Oracle database administration. IT analysts will be responsible for delivery of new, enhanced functionality as well as debugging and fixing defects in existing programs.

Job Qualifications:

Candidates in this area should have an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, finance, business, management information systems, computer science or computer engineering (minimum 3.0 GPA).
