Information Technology Application Developer wanted at Union Pacific Railroad

As an Application Developer at Union Pacific, you will work both independently and as part of a team on projects that will streamline railroad operations. You will develop a variety of web-based applications.

Job Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering (with software emphasis), or an IT-related field.
-Minimum 3.0 GPA, transcript required
-Experience as an application developer desired
-Desirable computer skills include working knowledge of one or more of the following:
-J2EE, JAVA, XML/XSL, HTML,C/C++/ABAP
-Object-oriented design/development methodologies
-Linux, UNIX, Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems
-Databases (Oracle Preferred), SQL
-Desired coursework in one or more of the following areas: Data Structures, Database, Internet Development (HTML, Java), Object Oriented Programming, Hardware/Network
-Strong communications skills (both oral and written)
-Successfully pass the Advance Berger Aptitude for Programming Test (BAPT-ADV)

Information Assurance Engineer wanted at Union Pacific Railroad

You will verify effective security controls are in place to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of computer resources. This will require highly technical reviews of several technologies including operating systems, databases, web technologies and networking/communication infrastructures.

Business/IT Analysts wanted at Union Pacific Railroad

Your Opportunity at Union Pacific:
Come join Union Pacific as a Business / IT Analysts (SAP Emphasis) in our Information Technologies department. We are currently looking for college graduates to work in our SAP Center of Expertise with opportunities to advance within the SAP organization and other areas of the Railroad. New members to the organization will be put through extensive training and skills development activities to prepare them for placement onto strategic ERP projects throughout the Finance, Human Resources, Procurement and Maintenance areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysts are subject matter experts that support and design solutions that meet business requirements for the areas supported. Analysts perform configuration within SAP to support and enhance the solution and are responsible for resolving functional errors in the system, providing advanced problem resolution, developing functional documentation and specifications, and coordinating development efforts with the technical resources within the SAP Center of Expertise.

IT Analysts provide technical expertise to realize the designs developed collaboratively with the Business Analysts and members of the Business. Analysts focus on development using SAP's ABAP and Java programming languages, data modeling, extraction, transformation and loading using SAP/Business Objects business intelligence tools and systems administration activities focused on the SAP Basis layer and Oracle database administration. IT analysts will be responsible for delivery of new, enhanced functionality as well as debugging and fixing defects in existing programs.

Job Qualifications:

Candidates in this area should have an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, finance, business, management information systems, computer science or computer engineering (minimum 3.0 GPA).

Job Requirements:

-Possess a blend of strong analytical/technical skills and a well-rounded business perspective
-Possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to respond clearly and concisely to technical and business process questions.
-3.0 GPA minimum (transcripts required at interview)
-Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis
