On Tuesday, March 24, at 6:00 p.m., Lincoln DevOps will be meeting at Firespring at 1201 Infinity Ct., Lincoln.
For this first Lincoln DevOps meetup, Jason Wilkinson will be presenting on Firespring's initial foray into Docker. The presentation will include a quick overview of containers on Linux and will also cover hosting those containers using Amazon EC2 container instances.
Water, soda, beer and food will be provided.
The goal of the Lincoln DevOps meetup is to explore topics of interest both to developers and those that support the infrastructure hosting the code. This group will explore development topics from time to time but is likely to focus more on DevOps. Topics such as scaling, infrastructure as code and deployment are all fair game. It's likely that that the group will take a bit of a Linux/Open Source track, but Windows topics may come up as people with more experience on those topics step forward, the group says.
Their plan is to meet on Tuesday nights every other month.
