CSE Soccer Grand Challenge: Faculty vs. Students

CSE students and faculty went head to head in a soccer game on September 14th. The game was organized "just for fun," by Javier Darsie, a CSE graduate student and Research Assistant. The Faculty were the victors of the Department's first game- 1 to 0.

"Soccer is always fun. I played soccer my whole life and I knew beforehand that many students and faculty used to do it in the past. There was not a reason for not doing it," said Darsie.

"As any other extra-curricular activity, these events are generally a great opportunity to forget about your research for a moment and get to know other students and faculty better. Obviously, it also has a positive impact in our work as communication and trust are improved."

Darsie has hopes for more games in the future, and hopes that "next time we can BBQ after the game to keep people around and chat a little bit longer."

You can view photos of the game on the CSE Facebook page, and a video on Youtube:
