Dr. Massimiliano Pierobon was named the 2017 IEEE INFOCOM Best Paper Award Runner-Up.

His paper, “A Parity Check Analog Decoder for Molecular Communication Based on Biological Circuits,” was the result of research work done in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi) in Milan, Italy. Pierobon also worked on the paper with Alessio Marcone, a master’s student who did his thesis in Dr. Pierobon's MBiTe Lab in 2016. The paper contains part of the results of the research they completed together with with Marcone’s PoliMi advisor, Dr. Maurizio Magarini.

IEEE INFOCOM is top-ranked conference on networking in the research community. About 1500 papers are submitted to the conference for oral presentation each year, and this year's overall acceptance rate was 20.9 percent. Only two are selected for distinction.

We congratulate Dr. Pierobon on his achievement!
