Accounting faculty at Creighton University are looking for an undergraduate or graduate student to implement a process for text extraction from forms 10-K from the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
The process is fully specified by them already, so the job primarily consists of implementation (in Python or Perl) and testing of the system. It will involve conversions of files in multiple formats, including HTML and PDF. Pay is estimated at around $1,000-1,500. Previous experience in textual analysis is a plus.
