Nebraska Engineering students can Make a World of Difference by joining in and building a stronger collegiate engineering community when the annual Engineers Week – also known as E-Week – runs February 21-27 on both the Lincoln and Omaha campuses.

Registration for events is currently underway on the E-Week website (link below).

The annual week of events, a University of Nebraska tradition since 1913, runs in conjunction with National Engineers Week.

At UNL, College of Engineering students plan and coordinate all events for E-Week on both the Lincoln and Omaha campuses. While events change on an annual basis – based on the theme – these student-centered events generally include competitions, student banquets, recreational sports and light-hearted social events that bring the collegiate engineering community together.

This year, events in Lincoln will kick off on Sunday, February 21 with a 5-kilometer run, sponsored by the Engineering Student Advisory Board (eSAB). The Fun Run will start at 9 a.m. at the Nebraska East Union and will benefit the Lighthouse After School Program in Lincoln.

Registration is available at 8 a.m. the day of the Fun Run. Participants do not have to be Nebraska Engineering students but must complete and submit a waiver form at sign-in/registration before the event starts. There will be free parking on East Campus in all lots, except for reserved parking spots.

The schedule of events for Lincoln also includes Donuts with the Dean(s), laser tag, a burrito-eating competition, an engineer design competition, a screening of “The Martian,” and the annual faculty pancake flip.

In Omaha, events will include a pancake feed, an AutoCAD 3D modeling competition, ice skating, Engineer’s Night Out, a K’Nex design competition, a UNO hockey tailgate and game, the Mr. and Ms. Engineer Pageant and a dance.
