Students interested in food in the 21st century are invited to a discussion on East Campus Nov. 5, said Lucas Fricke, vice president of programs for the Collegiate Farm Bureau.
"The Collegiate Farm Bureau is partnering with the Alliance for the Future of Agriculture in Nebraska to host a food dialogue where students will share their thoughts and ideas about food production, genetically modified organisms (GMO), livestock production affecting climate change, and animal welfare," Fricke said.
“Food experts have spoken on campus before, but this is one of the first times that students will be able to share their opinions on how the next generation of agriculturalist will continue to produce a safe and abundant food supply," he added. "The panel of students will represent a diverse group of student organizations on campus. We are excited to host a dialogue that we hope will encourage students to share more of their opinions.”
All students and faculty are invited to attend the Food Dialogue Nov. 5 in the Great Plains room of the East Union. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and refreshments will be provided.
