IANR to 2025 meeting moved to Sept. 16

I trust that your fall semester is out of the gate with a bang! It is really good to see students busily traversing the campus again eager to learn how they can change the world through their educational experiences with us. It is a fabulous opportunity that we have to play such an important role in their lives, and one that I know you all take seriously and approach with great passion.

Last week you should have received a “save the date” message from me for an IANR to 2025: Time for Action conversation and update meeting on Aug. 26 at 9 a.m. I am now writing to let you know that after carefully considering several events occurring in the coming weeks, we have decided to postpone this session until Friday, September 16 from 3:00-5:00 pm in Hardin Hall.

Chancellor Perlman’s State of the University address will occur on Thursday, September 1, and he plans to announce several major goals for UNL that are important and pertinent to our conversation. I highly encourage you to attend if you can to hear about these bold and exciting plans for the University in the next 5 years.

I also expect for there to be several significant announcements important to IANR and our programs over the coming weeks that will also add to the context of our discussion on September 16.

As I indicated earlier, our collective leadership team has had an exciting summer, including a very productive IANR to 2025: Time for Action Leadership Retreatheld in North Platte in late July. I am highly encouraged with the major progress that has emerged from the IANR to 2025 process and will be providing you with a summary of our outcomes and next steps when we gather as an IANR community for this session. Simultaneously with the session, a written progress report will also be made available via the web to allow you to see the full breadth of actions which will be coming in to place as a result of the process as we move forward this fall. The meeting will be offered via video streaming for our colleagues who are located off-campus to ensure full access and participation.

My apologies for playing a bit of musical chairs with your calendars, but feel that this discussion is so important for IANR that it merits us having all of the “ducks in a row” so that we can make the best use of your valuable time and you can see the full effect of this journey that we are on to reach new levels of excellence for IANR and UNL.

I will look forward to seeing you in the Hardin Hall atrium at 3:00 pm on September 16 for a Dairy Store ice cream reception followed by our session in the auditorium from 3:30-5 p.m.

Best regards-

Ronnie Green
