The Star Tribune newsroom offers one of the best summer internship programs in our industry. We select more than 10 college and graduate students for paid 10-week positions as reporters, copy editors/multiplatform editors, designers, photographers and multimedia producers.
• Interns are paid the same as first-year professionals, $706 a week.
• This opportunity allows students to get real-world experience in a major daily news environment. It can also improve future employment prospects. In fact, we have hired several of our former interns.
• Our interns are assigned mentors, in addition to supervisors, and senior staffers hold weekly brownbag lunches with interns.
