Roles include research and coordination of social media and other marketing materials including The Downtown newsletter, website and gift card promotions. The Marketing Coordinator develops relationships with a wide variety of downtown businesses to help promote DLA's mission and objectives.
Specific Duties:
1. Serve as a research/content lead for Downtown Lincoln's social media handles.
2. Manage gift card communications with downtown businesses.
3. Assist marketing team in the writing and production of various communication materials.
4. Maintain and update Downtown Lincoln's Community Event Calendar.
5. Assist in the planning and execution of various downtown events.
6. Work with marketing staff to produce a monthly Downtown E-Newsletter.
7. Develop and maintain positive working relations with downtown business and property owners.
8. Interview new and current downtown business owners, employees and various other constituents.
9. Operate DLA's visitor booth at several University and downtown conventions.
10. Serve as backup as needed for customer service and telephone responses.
Position Requirements:
Education/Coursework related to Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Communications or PR fields.
Personal/Professional experience with various social media platforms.
Strong writing and communications skills.
Ability to be detailed and self-motivated.
Strong knowledge of all social media tools including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Constant Contact, and Pinterest.
Ability to work and communicate with a wide range of people.
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is helpful but not required.
Position Specifications:
Compensation: Starting at $10/Hour
Non-Exempt Part-Time Employee, 20-25 hours/week, flexible schedule
