This position requires a strong relationship with sources in law enforcement and local government. In addition to crimes, fires and trials, the position also produces occasional general assignment, feature and special section pieces as well. Reporters generally work one night per week and one weekend per month.
Required Skills:
News gathering, writing and digital skills will all be considered, and a knowledge of government and law enforcement operations is helpful. Must have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and insurance. Some photography experience is helpful.
Required Experience:
Previous journalism experience is preferred but not required.
