Night Executive Producer/ Assignment Editor

The Night Executive Producer/Assignment Editor has the general responsibility for being an aggressive news leader, committed to winning. The ideal candidate is aggressive on breaking news, understands and can execute three-screen strategies, has a keen eye for showcasing, and has a winning track record of growing the numbers.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate 10pm newscast content and presentation across multiple platforms
• Enhance and support content with graphics, video and station branding
• Review content for multiple platforms
• Supervise pre-production to ensure quality and ethical standards and coordination between Media Control Center and design staff
• Supervise the writing of content
• Manage performance for assigned direct reports, including but not limited to yearly reviews
• Post content to station's web sites
• Knowledge and demonstration of editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
• Create tactics and strategies to increase demo performance in key target areas for multiple platforms
• Research and planning for future news events
• Work with other departments to accomplish the objectives of the station

Qualifications:
• Must have a keen sense of logistics and the ability to work successfully in challenging situations, strong leadership skills and news judgment.
• 3-5 years' experience as Senior Producer in a larger market or Executive Producer in a small size market.
• Newsroom-deadline driven and fast paced.

Digital Content Producer

The Digital Content Producer has the general responsibility for being an aggressive cross platform performer, committed to winning. The ideal candidate understands and can execute winning website/social strategies, is constantly evolving and searching for new digital ways to reach a news audience.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Writing for all WOWT platforms, on-air (tickers), website, social media, mobile platforms.
• Create unique and arresting content that makes WOWT stand out on social media.
• Keep our followers engaged, informed and entertained
• Manage social media output across all channels, delivering a regular flow of posts every day.
• Grow WOWT’s audience, and help news personalities grow in key social media channels.
• Drive traffic to the WOWT website.
• Keep all WOWT teams informed about the field by sharing knowledge of new social media developments.
• Be internally and externally recognized as an ambassador for WOWT.com
• Be an authority on the WOWT brand and competitors.
• Ensure that the brand standards are met across all platforms.
• Promote the brand and its values at all opportunities.
• Assist reporters, anchors, and other news staff in generating content for social media
• Work with the News Producers to integrate content from social media into on-air content.
• Create polls and/or any other suitable features, to support wider editorial content
• Generate ideas that will inspire our users to contribute content for use in digital and print features.

Qualifications:
• At least one years’ experience as a news or website writer
• Creative and accurate writing
• Champion of spelling and grammar
• Must be tech savvy

Writer/ Producer

This position is for Writer/Producer. The Writer/Producer has the general responsibility for the conceptualization and creation of commercials, promotion, public service announcements, and possibly long-from productions, such as presentations or station programs. Writer/Producer must possess good organizational skills, and the ability to “multi-task.”

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Write copy, Shoot & Edit footage for station and commercial promotions.
• Interpret the production needs of a client, organization, and our station…then create, write, shoot, produce, and edit effective productions recognizing the importance of “service”.
• Working knowledge of non-linear edit systems, audio productions equipment, and graphic systems.
• Possess general knowledge of all facets of productions, including the ability to effectively communicate specific production requirements to those for which one is producing. This will involve representing WOWT NBC Omaha with a positive, helpful demeanor at all times during the project.
• Work closely with sales account executives on assigned productions. This will demand a positive, helpful attitude.
• Work with Director of Promotion & Production to anticipate and handle details/planning of assigned Marketing Plan projects.
• Must be able to meet and exceed all deadlines.
• Assist in developing and exhibiting the highest quality standards, and work procedures. This includes actual on-air material, presentations, and simple dub procedures
• May act as grip for other writer/producers during shoots. This would involve helping to stop equipment, teardown equipment, and loading of equipment from and into vans. May also setup props in studio.
• Maintain an organized and easy to navigate master project library.
• This job description is subject to change and includes the right of management to add duties as assigned.
• Work closely with news to conceptualize, develop and finalize sweeps stories and promotion.

Qualifications:
• Exceptional communication and People skills
• College degree or equivalent job experience
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record (will be reviewed)
• Pre-employment drug screening and random drug testing is possible throughout employment.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud which includes, but not limited to, Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and etc.
