Researcher, The Washington Post

PowerPost, our vertical distilling Post coverage into a must-read stream geared to leaders in Washington, is significantly expanding. Building on the enormous success of James Hohmann’s The Daily 202, we will be launching three new newsletters in areas critical to the incoming administration and Congress. PowerPost will also be hiring a deputy editor and a researcher to help support our growing ambitions.

RESEARCHER

We are seeking an ambitious political junkie to help support our growing suite of newsletters. The ideal candidate will be willing to keep irregular hours, read news voraciously, and understand what stories are important and will have impact among our target readers.

The candidates should be flexible in their approach to the work, able to juggle several different topics in one day and capable of working with different kinds of reporters and editors. Experience curating social media, with digital strategy or new digital projects is desirable. Smart aggregation will be a key part of this job.

Those interested in these positions should by January 27 send their resume and three writing samples, in addition to any newsletter writing they can submit, to Rachel Van Dongen (Rachel.vandongen@washpostcom), Steven Ginsberg (steven.ginsberg@washpost.com), Amy Gardner (amy.gardner@washpost.com) or Tracy Grant (tracy.grant@washpost.com).
