Operations Technician, KETV

KETV has an opening for a Broadcast Operations Technician. The Operations Technician operates cameras, audio consoles, remote trucks and acquisitions gear in the production of newscasts and taped programs. The Operations Technician
must communicate effectively with the production department, as this is integral for a smooth outcome of newscasts. This position supports all station efforts in-house and on remote locations.

Job Responsibilities:

-Operate studio cameras
-Moving and handling of cables and gear during in-house and on-location productions (this could mean assisting in moving heavy equipment)
-Maintain appearance of studios including cleaning of set and floor
-Basic multi-media computer skill and familiarity with current Internet technology including downloading of materials
-Work as needed in control room in technical positions (including acquisitions, audio)
-Operation of Microwave vehicles including set up and operation of ENG cameras and associated gear.
-Requires ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds for long distances. May require climbing ladders.
-Other duties as assigned by the TV Operations Manager

-Must have demonstrated a helpful, positive "can
do" attitude and a passion for excellence in everything they do.

Qualifications Requirements:

-Must have a solid background in broadcast television systems
-Must have the ability to regularly work weekends, holidays and on whatever shift that is required for the completion of their duties

Education:

-Associate's degree or equivalent work experience in broadcast television production
