Sustainability Communications Intern, Lincoln Public Schools

The Lincoln Public Schools Sustainability Department is looking for a qualified communications person to join our office. The LPS Sustainability Department coordinates district-wide environmental programs and provides support for green school
activities.

Responsibilities:

-Assist in planning, writing and managing monthly newsletter
-Assist in developing social media content
-Build and manage content for LPS Sustainability website
-Design and create online and print materials (infographics, brochures, flyers, etc)

Qualifications:

-Preferred student pursuing degree in communications, journalism, advertising, or related major
-Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Suites
-Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills
-Self-motivate, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines
-Has an interest in learning about sustainability and the environment
-Prefer applicants pursuing a degree in communications, journalism, advertising, or related major

This is a paid position, starting at $10.23/hour. Candidates should have availability for a minimum of 20 hours/week during the summer.
