Public Relations Intern, The Omaha Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency

The Omaha Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA) is seeking to hire a public relations intern. MAPA is a regional Council of Governments serving Douglas, Sarpy and Washington Counties in Nebraska and Mills and Pottawattamie Counties in Iowa. MAPA provides transportation planning, community development and grant administration to the metro area.

Duties include the following:

-Assist in public outreach on the Heartland 2050 project, a regional vision for the Greater Omaha region, and Little Steps Big Impact, a public education campaign to promote clean air and reduce ground-level ozone
-Assist with written communications for Little Steps Big Impact
-Solicit and collect prizes for the Live Well Omaha Commuter Challenge
-Assist with event planning
-Data analysis and research
-Assist in external communications including social media

This internship is an excellent opportunity to get on the job experience and to network with local companies and governments. The internship is for 40 hours/week during the summer. Intern will be paid $12 / hour.
