KOLN/KGIN-TV is accepting applications for full-time a Video Specialist based in Lincoln at 10/11 News. Those who have worked in a newsroom professionally and know the inner workings of video cameras and editing systems are the ideal candidates. 10/11 News is now part of a statewide network of newsrooms that stretch through Hastings/Grand Island and North Platte. It’s called the Nebraska News & Information Network.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
This position will need to be flexible as the shift is either late-night or early morning. It could change from time to time due to station needs. He/she will work with reporters on live shots using live trucks and TVU technology. He/she will also do a lot of editing and shooting breaking news overnight. Knowledge of reporting on spot news and how to make beat checks is a plus. He/she will also help with web content when needed.
Qualifications include:
ability to edit video to script, write and report accurately and creatively under deadline pressure; and has the ability to juggle communication between reporters in the field and the production team. He/she must also come in with a positive, team-player attitude and be a motivation in the newsroom.
She/He must maintain a permanent residence within 30 minutes of station and meet physical requirements of the position. A valid driver's license is required. She/He must have a flexible schedule and be open to working weekends or overnights.
