A hybrid position including multiple areas of responsibility. News and interview gathering and booking, news delivery, sports news/interview gathering, sports related creative production and regular commercial production as well as updating websites in the areas of news and sports. Most if not all areas are commonly dictated by "as needed or as assigned" however, the details and guidelines for this position are more clearly delineated below.
Experience:
Operating audio equipment, using recording software, communication skills for interviewing clients, basic Microsoft Office, Social Media knowledge such as Facebook, Twitter, Skype, HTML code.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Drivers License with clean driving record
Additional Information:
-Monday through Friday with one hour lunch which may be adjusted to accommodate select hours designated for news coverage.
-Assist the News Director in creating and gathering 5 or more local news stories of interest each day.
-Edit and dissect long form interviews such as "Close Up" and "Morning Conversation" for repurposing as one or more news stories each.
-Gather and record long form interviews as assigned including but not restricted to Closeup and Morning Conversation numbers of which will be determined by News Director.
-News updated on websites and social media as needed
-Contact and record sports figures as needed for sports play by play broadcasts including Hastings College and High School.
-Create production elements for play by play and long form sports shows originated by some or all of the Platte River Radio Stations.
Create and produce programming, news and sports promotional sports as needed.
-Estimated hourly proportions (per week): News Coverage 3-5; 14 for news/sports interviews, 21 for Programming, news sports and commercial production.
-Any other duties needed and assigned by the General Manager, Operations Manager or News Director.
