KOLN/KGIN-TV is accepting applications for a full-time Morning Anchor in our North Platte Newsroom. The select candidate is responsible for anchoring a two hour morning newscast, with some producing and reporting responsibilities. The select candidate should be a newsroom leader and help with story generation and reporting as needed. This position requires a person who is digital savvy and can engage with viewers on-air and online. The select candidate must demonstrate flexibility in the newsroom and on-air and present an energetic personality while delivering the news.
Duties include:
Duties include writing TV and online news stories that are professionally complete and compelling, Anchor newscasts as assigned, present stories calmly and clearly and in a live capacity, appear at promotional functions, operate news equipment in a safe; professional manner, support news promotion, contribute regularly to news coverage and perform duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
Broadcast journalism experience in another newsroom is a must. A College Degree or equivalent job experience in a journalism related field, leadership skills, exceptional news judgement, and professional knowledge of news operations are required.
