YouTube Series Host, The Confucius Institute at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln

The Confucius Institute at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, a non-profit academic organization, is launching a YouTube series on Chinese history, culture, language, and society along the same lines of Crash Course, PBS Digital Studios, and other online info-tube video series.

We are in need of an energetic student enthusiastic about China and Chinese culture, and not the least bit shy talking in front of the camera, to host a filmed YouTube series on Chinese language and contemporary society. Topics range, but are generally well-researched linguistic and social issues that are scripted for the host; however, we welcome candidates who would be willing to give their input on scripts, suggest topics that interest them, and improvise scripts to fit their own personality and style. Candidates should be fluent in both English and Chinese. This is an unpaid internship, but has the possibility of becoming a part time job in the future.

Qualities:

Fluent in both English and Chinese
Energetic speaker
Enthusiasm for Chinese culture and society
Good creative writing skills
Flexible hours and variable time
