Communications Assistant, KANEKO (Omaha, NE)

Job Description
Title: Communications Assistant
Reports To: Marketing & Communications Manager, Director of Programming
Status: Full Time
Salary: $28,000

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. BRAND MANAGER
– Assists in managing KANEKO’s brand under the supervision of the Marketing & Communications Manager and the Director of Programming.
– Ensures that all KANEKO marketing and communications print and digital collateral are in keeping with established brand standards.

2. DESIGNER
– Responsible for the design and creation of KANEKO marketing and communications materials, both print and digital, using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom).
– Marketing materials include but are not limited to: invitations, newsletters, posters, postcards, in-gallery signage, etc.

3. WEBSITE MANAGER
– Responsible for populating content within the KANEKO website using WordPress and Photoshop.

4. SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT CREATOR
– Responsible for creating and curating social media content through KANEKO’s social media channels (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).

5. MARKETING CALENDAR MANAGER
– Develop and maintain a synchronized marketing and communications calendar in coordination with other staff members and departments.

6. PUBLIC RELATIONS LIAISON
– Prepares and executes KANEKO press releases.
– Manages and coordinates incoming press inquiries for interviews and quotes.
– Prepare KANEKO staff and volunteers for interactions with media and press.

Qualifications:
– Bachelors Degree in marketing and communications preferred
– Graphic Design experience using Adobe Creative Suite preferred
– Photo/Video editing skills preferred
– WordPress knowledge and website management experience
– Ability to represent at a high-quality level of spoken and written communications
– Personable, outgoing and willing to engage in conversation
– A knowledge of Arts & Cultural organizations preferred
