Insurance 101 will be held Sept. 7 at noon and 6 p.m. at the University Health Center in conference rooms A, B, C.
Insurance 101 will discuss insurance terminology and summarize the UNL Healthy Option Student Plan as a part of a health literacy campaign. Food and refreshments will be provided. The event is sponsored by the UHC, Aetna Student Health and Ameritas.
The Department of Health and Human Services defines health literacy as the degree to which individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions. As an effort to improve health literacy on campus, the UHC will have opportunities throughout the academic year for UNL students to become educated health care consumers.
