The Nebraska Show Choir Camp took place at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music. More than 350 campers sang, danced and performed in many venues in the arts quad on the UNL campus. The campers came from as far away as Texas and Wisconsin.

“I never cease to be impressed by the dedication and energy these young men and women commit to their art,” Nebraska Show Choir Camp coordinator Scott Rieker said. “They work incredibly hard throughout the week and yet manage to have fun all the while and make friends they will have for the rest of their lives.”

The camp included nationally renowned music clinicians such as Pete Eklund, Doran Johnson, Lester Miller, and Jen Randall as well as nationally renowned choreographers such as April James, Stephen Todd and Kevin Chase. Thirty-seven current, future, and former members of UNL’s own Big Red Singers served as counselors, dance captains, and mentors to the campers throughout the week. UNL Professor of Voice, Alisa Belflower, provided the unique opportunity of two master classes for each of the six ensembles, where student volunteers can perform a song for her and the group and receive coaching and feedback. Professor Belflower also produces the Musical Theater Revue and Classical Music Revue concerts for the campers on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
