Fall performance season quickly approaching at Glenn Korff School of Music

Highlighted by the opera, Little Women, two performances in the Hixson-Lied Concert Series of the Chiara String Quartet, and the Cornhusker Marching Band Highlights Show at the Lied Center for Performing Arts, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music is excited to announce its Fall 2016 season.

Nearly 50 different performances will take place over the five-month period.

This fall continues the partnership with NET to webcast many of the Glenn Korff School of Music performances. Nearly 20 are scheduled for the fall semester with more individual student recitals still to be scheduled. The opera, Little Women, will take place November 11 and 13 in Kimball Recital Hall, while the Cornhusker Marching Band Highlights Concert at the Lied Center for Performing Arts will be December 11 at 7:30 p.m. The Student Dance Project takes place December 2 and 3 in Mabel Lee Hall.

The first Chiara String Quartet performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 6 in Kimball Recital Hall. The second performance will be Tuesday, November 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall. Advance tickets can be purchased from the Lied Center Box Office (402-472-4747) as well as online. A season-ticket package is also available.

The University of Nebraska Brass Quintet performance is November 28 in Kimball Recital Hall, the Moran Woodwind Quintet performance is November 3 in Westbrook Recital Hall while the Faculty Jazz Ensemble performs in Westbrook’s Recital Hall on November 7.

A number of solo faculty recitals will also take place in many different venues starting with the Kate Butler performance on August 28 at Ebenezer Church and Clark Potter’s performance in Westbrook Recital Hall on August 28.
