The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts announces its 2016-2017 CAST.
The six members of the CAST will share their stories with prospective students this year through online videos, social media and special appearances. They also serve as Hixson-Lied College Student Ambassadors.

This year’s cast includes:

Amy: A directing/performance major in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film. Growing up in Arizona, Amy was the first child in her family to explore the arts. She loves being on stage and working with a group of people to create art. Theatre became her passion and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln was the place it was going to happen. She is the Artistic Director for Theatrix, a student-producing organization at the University of Nebraska.

Ben: A film and new media major in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film. His interest in film began as a child with his parents VHS over the shoulder camera. After shooting more than 40 hours of VHS, Ben’s passion for telling stories with moving pictures began to develop. The small class sizes allow Ben to perfect his skills in order to accomplish his dream job of becoming a cinematographer.

Madeline: An art major with a photography emphasis in the School of Art, Art History & Design. Her father gave her a 35mm camera when she turned 13, and she hasn’t stopped taking photos.

Mady: Is a dance major in the Glenn Korff School of Music. She has been dancing since she was four years old and her passion for dance continues to grow. The University of Nebraska’s modern dance major elevated her choreography skills, which have been displayed at the school’s end of the year performance.

Michael Is a graphic design major in the School of Art, Art History & Design. Originally from West Des Moines, Iowa, she was always talented in the arts, but was hesitant to declare art as a major. After experiencing the vibrant art scene at the University of Nebraska, her hesitation turned into a passion. Currently, she is the Art Director for the Daily Nebraskan, UNL’s student run newspaper.

Ricky: Is a music education major in the Glenn Korff School of Music. Growing up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, he had the opportunity to march several summers with a drum and bugle corps. Ultimately, he wanted to expose students to music and create positive experiences. The personable faculty within the Glenn Korff School of Music welcomed Ricky and are pushing him to become the best possible musician.
